FORT HALL — On January 13, a going away lunch was conducted for Land Use Director Travis Stone at the Fort Hall Housing conference room.

Stone was employed with the Tribes for 17 years. He will be moving to Washington D.C. where he will begin his new position as Assistant Director for Tribal Relations with the U.S. Forest Service.

“I am sad to leave the reservation — this is home, I love it here, but I am excited to see new places and explore,” Stone said.

At the lunch friends and former coworkers shared stories, said farewells, and presented gifts. Stone said “I’ll miss everyone I work with, my favorite people in the world. The things I’ll miss the most are the mountains and the Bottoms area.”
