FORT HALL — The Agai Deka Gathering is August 6-7 at Tendoy and Salmon.
Friday, August 6 is travel time for gathering participants. A cultural site visit is scheduled at 2 p.m. with participants meeting at Tendoy School. Sandwiches will be provided by the Culture Committee and Language and Culture Preservation Department at the Sacajawea Interpretive Center that evening. Oral history can be shared.
Saturday, August 7: 6 a.m. is prayers and blessings for walkers and runners at Tendoy School, along with distribution of T-shirts. The walk/run begins up Lemhi Pass sponsored by the late Snookins Honena family. Snacks will be provided by the Honena family.
At 7 a.m. breakfast will be available at the Sacajawea Center for non-runners. Sacajawea Center doors will be open at 9 a.m. A site visit will be done to the Tendoy Memorial to see where improvements are needed.
At noon a sack lunch will be provided for walk/run participants at the top of Lemhi Pass and also for those at the Sacajawea Center.
At 3 p.m. is Indian games at the Sacajawea Interpretive Center. At 5 p.m. is a social powwow at the same location. The gathering ends at 7 p.m.
