FORT HALL — A group from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes participated in the Wagon Days in Sun Valley September 1.
Leo Ariwite coordinated the participation in the parade and a dance exhibition. He said the float the tribal members were on won the “Crowd Favorite” and first place for most inspirational.
It was a grand event, Leo said and their group has been invited back for 2019.
Ghost Canyon was the drum group for the dancers and Darrell Shay was master of ceremonies. Shay said there were thousands of people along the parade route.

Photographer David Butterfield said the Sho-Ban appearance was spectacular. “From the drumming and dancing to the warriors in the parade. Many are saying it’s the best new addition to the event in years – way overdue and we hope it goes on forever.” He thanked all those who participated.
Riders on horseback included James Tone, Tony Tone, Jesse Tone, Dallon Yokoyama and Kalen Hammond.
