Week 1 testing is available October 12-14 and week two testing, October 18-21. The times available for testing is from 12:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
64% of total active (monitored) cases are unvaccinated, 36% of total active cases are breakthrough cases. (Breakthrough cases are when a fully vaccinated person gets infected with the coronavirus.) 7.42 is the daily average for new COVID-19 cases; this is a record high this year since December 16.
The Pfizer-BioNTech booster shot is currently available for those with the highest risk of severe complications of COVID-19. IHS is providing booster shots for specific populations and those in high-risk occupational and institutional settings.
The CDC recommends:
• People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings.
• People 18-64 years of age with underlying medical conditions based on their individual benefits and risks.
• People 18-64 years of age who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of their occupational or institutional setting.
Each group may receive a booster shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least six months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech “two-dose” series.
A reminder; The Pfizer-BioNTech third “booster” vaccine can only be given to those who received two doses of the COVID-19 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. This excludes Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (J&J).
