FORT HALL — The Fort Hall District meeting and Fort Hall District masquerade were relocated until an engineering review is completed on the safety of Buffalo Lodge.
Fort Hall District Committee member Luke Eagle said they committee should know after November 1 whether the structure is safe. He asked the Fort Hall Fire Department to come in and check the building, along with Public Works and the Tribes building inspector after issues were found with the foundation, a crack in the wall and the roof. It was determined an engineer needed to check the structure.
Fort Hall Business Council secretary Donna Thompson and a District representative said Buffalo Lodge is not condemned but the committee questioned the safety of the structure and requested an engineering review. Two firms did a pre-proposal review and the Tribes Construction Services is sending a formal request for an engineering review evaluation.
Thompson said the funds to pay for the Halloween event at the Hotel would come out of the Fort Hall District’s funds.
Eagle said an oven hood is also needed at Buffalo Lodge because a lot of frybread is cooked there and fire extinguishers are also needed.
