FORT HALL — the Fort Hall Business Council has confirmed per capita distribution for enrolled Shoshone-Bannock tribal members Monday, December 3, 2018 in the amount of $1,100 for adults and $550 for minors with the remaining half to be deposited into child’s trust account.
Distribution is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tribal Business Center. School aged children will not be allowed to pick up their checks until after 1:30 p.m. (no exceptions will be made for early pickup). Tribal ID cards are required when picking up a check.
If you currently have direct deposit and need to make changes or closures, please notify Rachel Osborne at the Finance office at 208-478-3779. Please contact the Enrollment office of any address changes (this includes the new physical addresses), name changes, court orders, Tribal ID cards or any another information at 208-478-3946.
The amount of the per capita distribution will be subject to Federal taxation for 2018 federal income taxes. The Finance Department will issue a 1099-MISC to each Tribal member and the Enrollment Department will mail out to each Tribal member to the address they have on file.
Tribal members are encouraged to update their reservation physical addresses with the Tribal Enrollment Department. According to the Tribal Enrollment Director, Terry Racehorse, “We have 1,600 Tribal members that still need to update their new addresses in our system. We will need your new physical reservation address by noon on Friday, November 16, 2018 to avoid per capita delays on December 3.”
In March of 2016, the Tribes provided door hangers with notice of their new addresses to all tribal residents. In addition, official notice to change addresses were also sent out by the US Postal service to Tribal member residents.
After January 1, 2019, the US Postal office will stop sending mail to the Rural Route Box addresses. To find out your physical reservation address, contact Hal Hayball at 208-478-3704 or Brooks Davis at 208-478-3736.
