Mountain Home Casino Task Force: Project still happening

By LORI ANN EDMO
Sho-Ban News

FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes reaffirm that the Mountain Home Economic Development Project is continuing as planned.

The Tribes Mountain Home Task Force issued the statement after the Mountain Home News managing editor Brian S. Orban said he received an anonymous telephone call saying the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes officially canceled plans to build a casino resort in Mountain Home. He wanted to verify it was correct.

The Tribes remain fully committed to the development, as most recently reiterated in their official press release issued on April 17 according to the statement.

“We are aware of recent false claims suggesting the project has been cancelled. These rumors are untrue. The Tribes will continue to communicate any official updates or developments through authorized channels. We encourage the public and media to rely solely on these official communications to ensure accurate and factual reporting,” the Task Force’s statement reads.
