American Falls High School Powwow results
Men’s fancy dancers during the American Falls High School Powwow afternoon grand entry on Saturday, February 8.
AMERICAN FALLS — The American Falls High School Powwow was February 8 that featured a couple of dance specials, and a free meal of Indian tacos was served after the first session.
Emma Carter helped organize the powwow for her senior project. Dave Archuleta and Matt Wilson served as emcees. Alex Graves and Danny Edmo were the arena directors. Drum groups included Duck Valley Singers, Blue Sky, Medicine Thunder and Sage Point.
Royalty was also selected. American Falls High School Queen is Serenity Jones. William Thomas Middle School Princess is Jacoba Carter, J.R. Simplot Elementary Princess is Luella Farmer and Hillcrest Elementary Tzi Tzi Princess is Socorro Martinez.
Outgoing J.R. Simplot Princess Tris’Stann Stacey had a junior girl’s jingle dress special where the top five were selected. Winners include: First: Kateri Broncho, second Elaya Villareal, third Paisley Buckskin, consolation Cambrie Buckskin and Evah Dann. Numerous gifts were given including ribbon skirts, gift baskets, cash, etc.

Teen Girls Fancy: First: Gabrielle Appenay, second Chelia Dann and third Cambri Buckskin. Teen Girls Jingle: First: Logan Wahtomy, second Ralee Shane and third Tee’Araha Anderson. Teen Girls Traditional: First: Susan Avila Dixey, second Skylee Osborne and third Envy Beasley.
