FORT HALL – Since the August 16, cyber security incident, the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Information Technology (IT) Department has diligently worked to address the situation.
The IT Department has concluded the containment/forensic phase of the ransomware recovery process and is now focusing on restoring and rebuilding.
IT Department staff will continue moving forward rebuilding a new network, wiping and rebuilding servers, working to safely back up and restore unencrypted files to freshly restored desktops, and implementing a new phone system.
Interim Executive Director Tino Batt, said, “As we move forward with ongoing operations, please expect paper-based submission and documentation processes, which may sometimes lead to longer approval and processing times. We ask for the community’s patience with these anticipated delays.”
Because of the uncertainty of when the phone system will be reconnected, tribal members are advised to use the updated phone listing for services, which is found on the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Facebook page, Shoshone-Bannock Tribes website, and printed in the Sho-Ban News, the Temporary Tribal PBX number is (208) 589-7483 to get departmental numbers.
For emergencies continue to call 911 or (208) 238-4000.
