FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel hosted their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, December 1 where everyone was invited to have a fun and festive night to light up their property for the holiday season.
It was a fun night full of Christmas activities where attendees could meet with Santa Claus, enjoy the hot cocoa bar, and attend a free Under the Streetlamps concert.
Attendees were able to participate in different activities from 4 to 6 p.m. — guests had the chance to take a Christmas photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus that came with a free printout. There was a popcorn cart where everyone could grab a bag and enjoy a snack.
One of the popular activities of the night was the 360 Photobooth, participants grabbed holiday props, hopped on the stand, did their best dance moves or poses, and had a fun video to remember their night.
Around 5 p.m. a friendly competition was held for the “ugliest sweater” of the evening. Throughout the night, guests enjoyed the hot cocoa bar with various toppings, including whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate chips, sprinkles, and candy canes. There was also a bar for the 21+ guests to enjoy.
Under the Streetlamp singing group performed their “Hip to the Holidays” show at the event.
While waiting for the concert to begin, attendees took their seats and enjoyed time with those in attendance, laughter and cheer was heard throughout the event center as children enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the company of friends and family.
Before the concert began Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel CEO Colista Matsaw spoke, she thanked everyone for coming to help welcome in the holiday season. She encouraged attendees to enjoy the hot chocolate station, to get pictures taken with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and to go out to see the lights on the trees outside.
