FORT HALL — Because of severe winter weather conditions the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes shut down government offices starting at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9.
As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday whiteout conditions were observed on Ross Fork Road and on the tribal campus where road crews were already working to clear.
The Sho-Ban Tribes Fast Command announced Sho-Ban offices would open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10 due to road conditions per Tribal Business Council.
According to the Shoshone-Bannock Transportation Facebook page the staff is out plowing and sanding roads. The Idaho Transportation Department and Bannock County were also out working as well.
They advised people who live out in the fields with drifted driveways to stay home if they don't need to go out and if they do need leave that they drive accordingly to road conditions.
East Idaho remained under winter storm warning through Wednesday afternoon.
