FORT HALL — Honey Snow Johnson Wahtomy is Fort Hall New Year’s Rez Baby and was born on Tuesday, January 4 to Estella Johnson and Leon Wahtomy.
Honey was born at 6:03 a.m. and was seven pounds, eight ounces and 13.5 inches long.
“She was pretty chunky,” commented her mama, who delivered the little one without an epidural.
The couple said they didn’t find out the gender of the baby and wanted it to be a surprise.
Honey is the little sister to her big brother Ezra, who is one and a half years old. Estella said she cries more than her brother did and it’s taken a bit, but he’s getting used to her.

Parents Estella Johnson and Leon Wahtomy with children Ezra and Honey.
Honey was also the first baby born in Bannock County.
Honey was named by her father, who was inspired by bees making honey, as well as a popular song “Killer Bees” by the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. She was also born during a snowstorm.
The little family moved from Washington just before Thanksgiving and reside with Leon’s dad, Ernest Wahtomy. They’re all settled now and looking forward to all that’s in store for their family in the year ahead.
The Sho-Ban News collected various donations from the community, which was gifted to the baby.
