Danella Perry-Murphy crowned Miss Native ISU for 2026-27

POCATELLO — Danella Rose Perry-Murphy was crowned Miss Native ISU at the annual Roar of the Nations Powwow at Idaho State University Reed Gym on Friday, April 3.

Akira Fast Horse-Armell was named first attendant.

Former Miss Native ISU Yvonne Warjack was in attendance to pass on the crown, her reign was in 2016.

Friday night, April 3
Prior to the crowning, Fort Hall Business Council Vice Chairman Lee Juan Tendoy gave an introduction and prayer for everyone in attendance.

ISU President Robert W. Wagner gave remarks and welcomed everyone to the weekend’s event.

The returning event is hosted by the ISU Native American Student Services (NASS) and the Native American Student Council (NASC).

Host drum was NDN Boyz from Warm Springs, Ore.; Head man dancer was Tyson Shay and head woman dancer was Shaneesha Crue.

To celebrate the return to ISU, Benny the Bengal made an appearance to judge a roar competition for the drums in attendance, with Ghost Canyon winning the top prize.
