Darrell Shay honored for 45 years of service to Sho-Ban Tribes

Council on June 9.

FORT HALL — The Land Use Policy Commission recognized Darrell Shay for his 45 years of service to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes at a retirement breakfast at the Tribal Business Center on Tuesday, June 9.

Shay served multiple terms on the Fort Hall Business Council: 1984 to 86, 1997 to 99 and 2016 to 18; he served on the Land Use Policy Commission from 2022 to 2026.

Additionally, his years of service include working in various tribal departments, including Tribal Construction and Language and Culture Preservation.

A small breakfast was served for family and friends at the LUPC office where Shay was gifted an embroidered jacket and blanket recognizing his service to the tribe.
