Veronica J. Herkshan
FORT HALL — Shoshone-Bannock tribal member Veronica J. Herkshan is serving as interim Fort Hall Agency Bureau of Indian Affairs Superintendent on a 120-day detail.
She was born and raised on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation and her parents are Aldene Ponzo Currie Pevo and Herbert W. Pevo.
Veronica is married to Enos I. Herkshan III and they reside in Albuquerque, N.M. since 2004. They have four children Dr. Laticia J. Herkshan (Otis Osborne) of Pocatello, Enos I. Herkshan IV, Mangas Herkshan and Ira Herkshan of Albuquerque. They have three grandchildren Shiloh (Mangus), Lozen and Otter Herkshan Osborne (Laticia and Otis).
She has worked for the federal government for almost 30 years and currently works for the Bureau of Trust Funds Administration (BTFA), Department of Interior in Albuquerque. She previously worked for the USDA Forest Service, Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District, Bend, Oregon; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Boise, and Bureau of Land Management, DOI, Vernal, Utah. She also worked for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes as Tribal Department of Energy Director.
“Fortunate to have opportunity to serve as the interim/acting Superintendent at Fort Hall Agency and work with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes,” she said.
