FORT WASHAKIE, Wyo. — The 22nd Annual Shoshonean Numic Language Reunion was hosted in Fort Washakie from June 21 to 23.
The second day events continued into the afternoon with breakout sessions and workshops. Among the workshops included were storytelling, moccasin making and discussions on different topics.
After the afternoon session, the events moved to the Eastern Shoshone Powwow Arbor where a traditional fashion show and a hand drum singing competition was hosted.

Thursday, June 23
The final day of the reunion began with a sunrise ceremony at the powwow arbor. Closing ceremony and remarks were hosted at the Fort Washakie School. Fort Hall Business Council member Lee Juan Tyler gave a presentation on Shoshone history.

Events moved to the powwow arbor for the closing activities beginning with a Parade of Flags for the tribes that are included in the Shoshonean Reunion each year. Tribes included in the reunion are the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Eastern Shoshone Tribe, Comanche Tribe, Western Shoshone, Northern Paiute and Ute tribes.

After the parade participants were included in a Friendship Dance and a Giveaway Dance. Shoshone-Bannock Tribes hosted a giveaway to those in attendance.
