FORT HALL — Ross Fork and Eagle Roads are the next project for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Transportation Department.
Construction will be done in early 2025. Ross Fork Road will be redone from the west end of Exit 80 overpass to Eagle Road. All of Eagle Road will be reconstructed. In addition, the sewer lift station at the corner of Ross Fork and Eagle Roads will be relocated next to Warbonnet Road.
The total cost of the project is around $10 million with $3.9 million from legislative funds Rep. Mike Simpson assisted with, $5.9 million in ARPA (American Recovery and Protection Act) funds and the remaining is from federal highway funds said Richard Thompson of Tribal Transportation.
On Eagle Road there will be walkways on both sides of the road, a bike trail, however the utility poles have to be moved away from the road on the west side because it will be widened.

New Eagle Road plan.
Jimmy Young – project manager/engineer with TransCivil/Horrocks Engineers, said new sidewalks will be constructed along the front side of TP Gas station and the Trading Post.
Project bids will go out in late fall and they hope to get the contract signed by end of year. Young said construction should start in early 2025 in either February or March. He said work will start on the west side of Eagle Road but traffic will be maintained at all times, so it will be narrower.
Both roads will have center turn lane. There will lighting on path on both sides of Eagle Road but not next to the houses.
Concerning the open ditch on the west side of Eagle Road, it will be covered and everything will be put in a pipe.
Tribal Transportation hosted an open house June 26 regarding the project.
