FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Early Childhood Program hosted a Head Start graduation parade on Saturday, July 11 that began on west Agency Road, turned south on Hiline Road then east on Ross Fork Road where it ended near the Early Childhood Center.
The parade was Lego themed. Many decorated their vehicles with balloons and blankets. One family cruised their graduates in a stretch limousine, some were on motorcycles while another cruised in a classic car.
Head Start Parent Committee president Angela Mejia said they had to do things different this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a normal year a graduation ceremony is conducted. Mejia said they took advantage of being outside, “We wanted everybody to be safe, we’re glad that you guys can join us, we hope you have fun — give a big wave, a honk, a shout — that’s what we’re doing today.”

On July 10, Mejia said a Lego themed backdrop was provided at the Early Childhood Center where parents could take photos as they just had to bring their own cameras. “It was a pretty good set up,” she continued.
