FORT HALL — The Indian Day Virtual Powwow 2020 has been going great so far according to Taylor Thomas, Indian Day Virtual Powwow committee member.
She said, “At the very beginning we started out a little slow with not so many entries into contests, as of today we started seeing posts right at 7 a.m. for contests.”
All contest entries in the specials and regular categories are to be posted from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and likes/votes will be recorded at 9 p.m. the same day of the contest.
Their main problem has been late posts to the contests.
“We cannot stress it enough to please post your videos between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. so all contests and specials are fair,” said Thomas.
“So far our favorite contest has been the pet contest where pets dressed up in their Indian Day finest and showed out to all of Indian Country. Thomas said Shoshone-Bannock people are known for their creativity and beadwork, and it really showed when our people expressed their creativity with love for their pets. There were 28 submissions into the pet contest category alone.”
Angela Ni'Eve Nevarez competes in Teen Girl's Traditional category.
