FORT HALL — A total of 13 contestants competed in the Shoshone-Bannock 11th Annual talent show “Fort Hall’s Rising Stars” at the Shoshone-Bannock Casino & Hotel Event Center September 22.
The talent show had six categories dancing, singing, lip synching, musical instrument, comedy and traditional.
Grand prize winner Ronald Braman.
Annie Bacon CFS Interim manager said since there was 13 participants registered everyone won a cash prize. “The pandemic caused the talent show to cancel for two years, it was time for our community to come back together” she said. The community’s connection, support and spirituality was lost during the quarantine and with performing it don’t come easy for many people, she continued, encouraging one another on the stage is one of the best confidence boosters is the best thing for our mental wellness.
Traditional second place winner Dallas Washakie.
She wanted to thank the participants, judges and community for attending as well as the Behavioral Health programs of CFS and FDTC. “I felt that it (Talent Show) went very well and the people were all happy, we received good feedback from the crowd as they left and further expressing their gratitude for a fun night and good food.”
Music instrument first place Wrendon Osborne.
Ronald Braman, grand prize winner said “I sang a well-known Irish folk song called Danny Boy, I know it well but I have never actually sung it until this week.” He did have a hard time thinking of something to sing so he had to look through his songbooks and just happen to find Danny Boy. “I realized it was perfect due to the feelings about the Queen and Colonization, the song being Irish summed up the complicated feelings towards the monarchy at this time,” said Braman.

Music Instrument: 1st place $100 - Wrendon Osborne. Traditional: 1st place $100 - Ellanis Stagmer, 2nd place $75 - Dallas Washakie. Dancing: 1st place $100 - Eres Eschief, 2nd place $75 - Jaydin & Kadence. Singing: 1st place $100 - Darrel Archuleta, 2nd place $75 - Leland Broncho-Tinno, 3rd place $30 - Jr. Jay. Grand prize: Ronald Braman.
