FORT HALL — Fort Hall Elementary crowned new royalty on Thursday, September 24.
Alexis Brunette was crowned Fort Hall Elementary Princess, first attendant is Kimora Graves-Pevo and K’Tilliauna Johnson is second attendant.
Alexis Sky Brunette is in the fifth grade, she’s a Shoshone-Bannock tribal member and is the daughter of Deanna Preacher.
Kimora Tula Graves-Pevo is the daughter of Thomas Pevo and Joyce Graves. K’tilliauna Jordan Johnson is the daughter of Patricia “Patty” Johnson.
Kilayla Harris is Fort Hall Elementary Future Princess and first attendant is Telah Pahvitse-Martinez.
Kilaya Joely Harris is in the second grade, she’s from the Eastern Shoshone Tribe and Northern Arapaho and is the daughter of Sheyenne Harris.
Telah Pahvitse-Martinez is the daughter of Patricia Johnson.
School Secretary and Pageant Coordinator, Cindy Jay, explained six girls ran for the titles, two for Future Princess and four for Princess.
“They’ve been excited to become royalty for our school,” she said.
Outgoing Fort Hall Elementary Princess was Yezlin Ariwite and Orion Wheeler-Kirkland was the Outgoing Future Princess.
The girls were judged on the application process, essay, introduction, poise, table display, poster, traditional talent and dancing.
“As a school we’re very proud and excited for them. We want these children to showcase their traditional cultures — and their knowledge and we would like to have them show us their unique leadership abilities,” said Jay.
