FORT HALL — The Veterans breakfast, sunrise ceremony plus honoring was Friday, November 11, at the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel Event center.

All veterans and community members were invited to attend. A variety of prayers were said at the sunrise ceremony from Gaylen Edmo, Fort Hall Business Council member, Clyde “Duke” Dixey and Zelphia Towersap. Spring Creek Singers sang prayer songs.

Before breakfast was served traditional 49 songs were sung.

Veteran Claudeo Broncho, who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 to 76, said “Over all the veterans breakfast went really well — seen a lot of people here and was really good to see veterans families.” It is good veterans have that family support, he said.

There was lots of food Broncho said and door prizes for veterans. He welcomes home all veterans and for those that are serving, he wishes them well for the future.

Veterans honorees were Rulon March, who served in the U.S Marine Corps, Ryan Waterhouse U.S. Army and Tyler Schrock, U.S, Marine Corps.

Waterhouse said he served in the National Guard in 1966 and ended in 1972 after six years of service.  He also said for the Veterans breakfast, it was nice to have a lot of people show up. “I don’t mind having a lot of people to talk to each other.” Tyler Schrock who served from September 2008 to 2012 said he was deeply honored and blessed with the veterans vest he received from the Osborne family. “It feels amazing to be honored and with everyone here today it is great” Schrock said.

The Osborne family, extended family and friends have sponsored the Annual Veteran’s Breakfast for over 30 years.
